Prayers for all..

To All...

...my thoughts and prayers are with you..daily...but especially in light of the horrific weather we are all experiencing...the storms in the South..the winds in Kansas, the brittle drought in Texas...among many others...I count you all as friends and family...you share my home...my hopes, my dreams, my successes...and my failures...as well as sharing yours... with me....I am finding myself, every minute... since the dawn of this day...praying for your safety and the safety and well being of your families...

God Bless all of you...

Lisa

  2. Thank you Lisa. I think us here in Kansas have seen the worst of this system pass. Looks like we have a clear week ahead.

  6. Lisa-
Thanks for checking up with me! It got really windy here and we had a lot of rain but the worst of the storms went to the north and south of us. One family here in Alabama lost four people so sad. All of them lived in trailers too. Trailers are not a good place to be in a tornado especially if there is no permanent foundation. Thanks again for thinking of me!

  7. Lisa - you are soooo kind. We are fine here. Tornado was about 20 miles away. We have had sustained winds of 50 - 60 for 2 days. Even for us Okies it has been a bit much. The wildfires have been close - within 5 miles, but we have been blessed thus far. I have been praying for Sandi after she mentioned how close to fires she has been and for her son as he fights them. Please continue to pray for rain for us. Even with the tornado, no rain!! But we and our neighbors have been watering every day to hopefully create our own version of a fire stop.

  11. Well, didn't think the weather was going to effect me here in Seattle.
Just found out my brother's house, in Texas, is in imminent danger. The neighborhood is evacuated. He is in Florida on vacation but figured there wasn't anything he could do about it. Had some friends go in and take out keepsakes. Maybe he will get lucky.

  14. Thx. My brother and I are so different. I would be right there pacing and stressed. He is sitting on a beach with a beer and a fishing pole. I guess if you have to wait it out, that would be the way to do it.

  15. Hi Lisa,
I'm okay in Kansas City. We were fortunate to only get rain and some little "streams" in our basement. Things like that happen when you have stone basement walls. For the past few days I've been washing the floor with bleach and hot water. Messy but far better than others who are trying to put their lives back together after the fires and tornados. My prayers go out to all.
    Thanks for thinking about me.

  16. Lisa, we fared well here in Portsmouth but, sadly, those in close neighboring cities were not so fortunate.

We live just south of Gloucester where the school was demolished as well as an entire neighborhood.

A friend vacationing on the Outer Banks of NC had her rental house shake to the point of items hitting the floor but the house across the street from theirs had a tree come into the top floor.

I spoke with an old classmate from high school who lives in Dunn, NC where the Lowe's was left in ruins.

Thank you for thinking of all of us. We sure appreciate your prayers!

  17. Ellen! I am so glad you are safe! when I read what was happening I about passed out! All of you are so close to the devastation! Thank you so much for letting us know! My heart just swelled out of my chest to see your message! Being a long haul truck driver...I can picture where all of you live in my head...and the panic for you all was overwhelming. I am inordinately glad you are safe and so very sorry for your neighbors...

  18. Thank YOU, Lisa. I was telling my husband today about how touched I was to see you ask about us. You're so busy but not too busy to reach out & send prayers.

Hut is so lucky to have you!
